Raising Money For...

In 2012, Cathy Barnes-Miller created the Miamisburg Adaptive Color Guard for special needs students: the first of its kind in Ohio.  The guard was developed to help people with special needs work on motor skills, listening skills, and relationships with their peers. Cathy also hoped to raise the public's awareness of these students and their capabilities and needs.

Shortly after being formed, membership was open to students throughout the region becoming the Miami Valley Adaptive Color Guard!

Today, the MVACG has 18+ members and performs at shows all over the Dayton and Cincinnati area.

Just a Pair of Shoes is an Ohio-based nonprofit organization focused on one mission:

To put quality name brand shoes on the feet of young students, in an effort to boost confidence and create a sense of belonging.

By having a pair of shoes they are excited to wear, during an important stage of their development, students can go through their day with a sense of pride concerning both the shoes on their feet and the opportunities ahead of them.
